TGIF - Thank god it's Friday

Wohoo!!! It's my first Friday after being back at work. I had Monday off so I need to work tomorrow too but that doesn't make this Friday any less glorious. There's just something about the end of the week and the impending weekend. In honour of weekends, today will be all about SUMMER PARTIES. Even though this year those parties might be smaller, they won't be any less fabulous. Here are some ideas on how to get through the summer party circuit with ease.

1. Sun, sun, sun...
It's always nice to look your best whether you're the host of the party or a guest. Easiest way to look fresh and summer ready is to have a tan. And obviously, these days the safest way is to fake it. I bought this gorgeous new self tan by Australian Glow recently and can't get enough of it. Super easy to use and subtle enough so you won't look like you arrived at an Essex themed party. This has been hyped in the social media as well so head down to your nearest supermarket or beauty store and get one for yourself too!

2. Go big or go home
What would a party be without a party dress?! This year it seems that bigger is better and long, flowy dresses are everywhere. I love, love, love this lilac beauty from H&M. It's from their brand new collection and only available online at the moment. I also really love the block coloured Zara dress and adore the pleated Vero Moda dress. Have you found the perfect party dress already?

3. Get ready to party...
Whether your hosting a party for 5 or 50, it's always easier if you pick a theme. That way you can make sure that the invitations, decorations and food and drinks tell the same story. This Hawaii themed party seems gorgeous and would be perfect for a birthday, baby shower, hen do or just a get-together with friends. Get those invites to the post pronto.

4. Showstopper
If you are the one hosting a party it's always difficult to decide what to serve to the guests. One of the highlights of any party is the cake... But how about not doing a traditional cake that you will still have in your fridge a week after the party. There are some really cute alternatives like these cupcake and doughnut towers. These are easy to fit into your theme by choosing different colour frostings/toppings and decorating with suitable flowers. Which ones look more delicious?

5. What's in the box?
So, you've been invited to a party. Need a present? The new Frutta collection from Iittala is a perfect gift for anyone celebrating this summer. It's fruity pattern and gorgeous colours make it a great present, especially when wrapped beautifully. Get a few glasses and a bottle of something to pour into them or get the pitcher and glasses for someone who is starting a new chapther in life, maybe getting married or finishing their school. Now, let's party!!!
