This week I love...

...days off!!! I've had yesterday and today off and I've been able to catch up on things here in the house. Oh, it's been amazing!! Obviously, I've changed the order around, this time in the living room, made little displays on shelves but I've also made space in the drawer for curtains, tablecloths etc. so that S can have more space in the wardrobes. So useful things too! :) The bedroom still needs A LOT of work. It should really be a calming space but for some reason it's full of stuff. Stuff that I need so can't throw away but would rather not have in sight all the time. And I really want to do a DIY project this weekend. Any project! I haven't done anything in a long time so I'm itching to do some painting or something like that. Maybe I could combine these two... Hmm... We'll see what happens on that front.

I'm eager to get started with this week's list so enough chit chat, let's have a look at what I've found this week...

1. I ♥ this blog
I love finding new blogs! This is a brand new find and I've only been reading it for a few weeks. I wanted to share it with you as I love the mix of interiors, fashion and family life. The pictures are beautiful as is her home. So, click here and see if you like it too.

2. I ♥ hats
I don't mind the cold weather as that's the perfect excuse to wear hats. I love, love, love proper fedoras and that kind of hats but the good old beanie is sometimes just as good. I thought of rummaging through my Pinterest board Accessories for suitable pictures but then I thought I'd use H&M hats as examples so then if you see something you like, you can actually buy it too. :) They have a great selection of different kind of hats and this is what I found. I actually love all of these. The beanie I already have but that cap looks super cute too, don't you think?!

3. I ♥ this incredible flat
OMG! The Swedes have done it yet again. I can't stop staring at these pictures. Especially that living room. I want, no need, two couches. Like, right now. That bedroom is lovely too. The colours are not exactly my taste, nor is that flower wallpaper. Actually with grey curtains that wallpaper might be quite cool?! I bet you sleep really well in that cosy looking bed thought and the room has such lovely atmosphere. What else do I love... that bathroom sink. WANT!!! You can find the rest of the pictures here along with the buying info. Hope I won't get into a bidding war with any of you. Well, maybe I won't try to buy it but I will try to replicate it. :)

4. I ♥ this sofa
The pictures from that fabulous flat have been an inspiration to me this week as I've continued to dream about a new sofa. I really love that look where two sofas are facing one another. However, my current flat at least wouldn't fit two sofas so I've started thinking about getting a normal sofa (instead of a corner sofa like we have now) and then pairing it with a chair or two.
I've already picked my sofa but haven't taken the financial step yet. :) To further rub salt to my wounds I've been drooling over Stylizimo queen Nina's living room. She has this sofa and she's made it look amazing by pairing it with different chairs. The sofa is, of course, Ikea's Karlstad and all of the pictures are from Nina's living room which is featured on her Pinterest board.

5. I ♥ cake
Right, it's January and the whole world is on a diet. Yes, including me. But that doesn't stop the chocolate cravings, now does it?! So, I was thrilled when I came across this picture of a yummy looking chocolate cake accompanied with the title: HEALTHY, sticky chocolate fudge cake. The ingredients list has a lot of good-for-you things on it so it's definitely worth a try. Maybe this could be my DIY project?! The recipe is originally from Top With Cinnamon blog and all I've done is copy pasted it here and translated some of the ingredients ready for you. Anyone else going to try it?!

Healthy, Sticky Chocolate Fudge Cake

{Gluten, Dairy + Grain Free}

1/2 cup ground flaxseed (=pellavansiemen)
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda (=ruokasooda)
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
6 tbsp honey
1 egg (see notes)
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp pumpkin/squash puree (=kurpitsa/myskikurpitsa)
2 tbsp cashew butter
1/4 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
Glaze:
2 heaped (=kukkurallista) tsp of powdered raw sugar (see notes) (or powdered sugar)
1 tsp cocoa powder
almond milk

tsp = teaspoon = teelusikallinen
tbsp = tablespoon = ruokalusikallinen

Notes
- I made raw powdered sugar by grinding demerara sugar in a blender until fine.
- You can use another liquid sweetener like maple or agave syrup, but you may need to add 1 tbsp more/less as they are more/less sweet than honey
- I used butternut squash puree
- You can use other nut butters, seed butters or melted coconut oil in place of the cashew butter.
- I added a small squeeze of lemon juice because I don’t like the aftertaste of baking soda that can sometimes be left, but I think I’m super sensitive to it so you can probably just leave the lemon juice out and it’ll be fine.

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C)

2. Stir together the flax, cocoa, soda and salt in a bowl.

3. In a jug, whisk together the vanilla, honey, egg, pumpkin and cashew butter with a fork. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.

4. Pour into a greased, lined 1lb loaf pan (line it with a bit of an overhang so you can lift the cake out easily). Scatter over the chocolate chips and push them into the batter. Bake for 40-50 minutes until the cake doesn't wobble when you shake the pan (the skewer test doesn't really work with this).

5. Stir together the powdered raw sugar and cocoa powder, then stir in almond milk until you get quite a thick glaze (just start with a teaspoon first and add more as needed). Pour over the hot cake and spread out evenly using the back of a spoon.

HAVE A YUMMY WEEKEND!!!
